CJ Connoy · Game Development Advisory

The industry has changed.
But the game
has to ship.

I help publishers and portfolio executives understand what’s blocking development, make clear decisions, and move the team forward.

When to call

A milestone missed.
A team changed.
A plan needs another look.

  • 01The project needs more time or people. Is that the real problem?
  • 02The milestone is complete on paper. The build leaves you uneasy.
  • 03The team changed. Can it still execute the plan?

Ways to work together

Understand the problem.
Help move the work forward.

You work directly with me.

In the first two, I advise and you decide. In the third, you hand me a piece of production and I run it.

01

Studio & production assessment

I play the build, talk with directors, leads, and production leaders, and take inventory of the plan, priorities, and available assets. I review the workflow and team organization.

You get: clear advice on what to change first, proposed owners, and a next review point. A concise summary supports the decisions.

02

Milestone advisory

Let’s look at the build, progress, and what’s getting in the way before your next decision.

You get: an experienced outside view. I come back to see what happened and help you adjust.

03

Hands-on production leadership

The work needs a leader with the authority and responsibility to move it forward. I lead a defined area of production with backing from studio leadership.

You get: clear direction. I own the decisions and follow-through within my remit, remotely or embedded.

Titles and seniority are assets, not anchors. Everyone grabs a hammer.

How I work

Get into the work.
Make the next move clear.

Talk with people.
Play the build.

Let’s turn over the stones nobody wants to turn over. Let’s ask really dumb questions.

Be direct about
what isn’t working.

No assumption is sacred. No theatrics, no personal takedowns. I’m easy to talk to, and I’ll tell you what I see.

Act. Check.
Adjust.

You set the priorities. I help you see the tradeoffs, identify who will carry the work, and follow up with you on what happened.

Making games is really, really hard.
